Hina Akbar

Major: Management Information Systems
Hina Akbar is serving as Vice Chair of the Energy Coalition for the 2020-2021 term. She is currently a senior majoring in Management Information Systems at the C.T. Bauer College of Business. Before pursuing a role within the Energy Coalition, Hina was actively involved as both the Member Relations Officer and the Administrative Vice President within the Management Information Systems Student Organization, or MISSO. Some of Hina’s accomplishments include becoming a finalist at both the Deloitte Foundation Cyber Threat Competition and the Phillips 66 Emerging Technologies Case Competition. Hina has experience in a variety of different roles and programs, through which she has gained her love and passion for technology. This past summer, Hina interned with Deloitte as a Cyber Risk Intern within their Risk and Financial Advisory practice. During her free time, Hina loves to explore Houston and document her days with “vlogs”. Her passion for Houston and its title as the Energy Capital of the World is what inspired her to become a part of the Energy Coalition. She is excited to embark on this journey and is committed to ensuring the success of the organization.
