Major: Management
Layne Browning is a first-time board member and serves as the first Vice Chair of Technology for the Energy Coalition. She is a management major at the C.T. Bauer College of Business with a concentration in human resource management. She serves as the human resources assistant at the Houston office for Mitsui & Co. (MEMS & MEPUSA), a Japanese energy company. She also interned for ExxonMobil Development Company at the Woodlands campus in the North Caspian Carbonite Reservoir Department.
Layne simultaneously serves as the Member Relations Director for The Society for Human Resource Management. Through SHRM she cultivates her passion for people and ethics. On weekends she dedicates her time to discipling children from preschool through elementary age. As an EC board member, she hopes to increase student engagement and get others creative and curious about various aspects of energy. Layne is excited to use her technical & professional leadership skills to serve on the board for the Energy Coalition this year. After graduation she hopes to use her diverse background to help shape the future of the energy industry.
